Our Early Learning Programme

Where Curiosity Leads the Way

An early learning programme built around your child. Because children learn best when they're genuinely interested in what they're doing.

Our Approach

Curiosity Sparks Learning

Children learn best when they're genuinely interested in what they're doing. That's not just common sense, it's backed by decades of research into how young brains develop. At KidsCo Birkenhead our early learning programme is child-led and play-based, which means we start with what your child is curious about and build rich learning experiences around that.

No sitting still before they're ready. Just engaged, happy children developing the skills they'll use for life-long learning. As they get closer to school, our Kura Programme gradually adds more structured activities to help them feel confident and ready for the classroom.

Infants (3-24 months)

Building trust, one moment at a time.

Everything starts here. In these first months your baby is absorbing the world at an extraordinary rate, and the most important thing we can offer is consistency, warmth, and responsiveness. Your infant will have a small group of key teachers who learn their rhythms, their cues, and what makes them feel safe.

We talk to babies constantly, sing to them, read to them, and give them safe opportunities to explore through their senses. Because brains don't wait.

What parents notice: Daily learning stories with photos so you can see the activities they participated in. Teachers who genuinely know your baby.

Toddlers (24 months - 3 years)

Big feelings, bigger discoveries.

Toddlers are scientists. They want to touch everything, test everything, and do everything themselves. Our toddler programme is built around that energy. We support growing independence, an explosion of language, and the beginning of real friendships.

Mess is welcome here. Also welcome is children saying "no" and "me do it", because that's exactly how toddlers learn.

What parents notice: Children who are becoming more independent, learning how to share and developing communication skills. A team that handles the hard moments with patience and humour. Real friendships forming.

Preschoolers (3-5 years)

Getting ready for school, the right way.

Our preschoolers are ready for bigger thinking, longer projects, and real challenges. We dive deep into topics that genuinely fascinate them. Early literacy and numeracy are woven into everything, not taught in isolation.

And for our 4 year olds, our Kura Programme (School Readiness) builds the specific skills and confidence that make the transition to school feel exciting rather than daunting.

What parents notice: Children who start school genuinely ready. Not just knowing letters, how to count and how to write their name, but curious, resilient, and confident in who they are.

Daily Rhythm

A Day at KidsCo Birkenhead

Every day has a rhythm. Children thrive when they know what comes next.

Planned Learning

Twice a day our teachers introduce experiences designed around each child's own learning journey. Every experience connects to what that particular child is working on.

Mat Time

Each day children come together as a group. They learn to listen, take turns, communicate and belong. We sing together, share news, and build connectedness that carries into school.

Food That Nourishes

Our in-house cook prepares fresh, nutritious meals every day. Morning tea, a proper hot lunch, afternoon tea, and a late snack for longer day children. Real food, made with care.
